Phase 4 Research Study

Healix Clinical Research is currently recruiting adults who are overweight and have an established cardiovascular disease or type 2 diabetes.

Women Eligibility Requirements 

  • Must be of non-childbearing potential, pregnant or nursing 

 

Body Mass Index (BMI)

  • Participants should have a BMI of ≥30 

  •   BMI is ≥ 27 kg/m2 AND diagnosed with one of the following weight-related co-morbidities:

    • High Blood Pressure (hypertension) 

    •  Type 2 diabetes (T2D)

    • High Cholesterol (dyslipidemia)

 

Medication Restrictions 

  • Weight loss medications 

  • Opioids 

  • Bupropion or Naltrexone containing products, such as Wellbutrin, Wellbutrin SR, Wellbutrin XL and Aplenzin 

  • Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MOAIs) 

Screening Procedures

  • Vital signs 

  • Blood samples

  • Urine pregnancy test and pregnancy prevention counseling (if applicable) 

  • Urine opioid test 

 

Visit Details 

  • Visit 1 Screening

  • Visit 2 Baseline/administer study drug

  • Ongoing study visits every 3 months for 1 year 

  • End of study treatment visit within 7 days of stopping study drug 

  • Follow up phone call every 3 months for 1 years after last dose
